@KuLaydMahn, will be output to the monitor as "a" So those are the basics of binary, you can try it yourself! Like this: I'll tell you what each bit's value is, each of the 8 bits will be separated by a hyphen (-), to reach any number between 0-255 you just have to do the math (addition) to figure out which combo of bits need to be turned "on," represented by a "1." The various bits are: 128-64-32-16-8-4-2-1. That's it! Try it out for yourselves! on Funnyism Picture (Upvotes: 42)
@KuLaydMahn, ok, in binary a byte is 8 bits, a bit is either a 0 or 1, and functions like a light switch where 0 is "off" and 1 is "on." Each bit also represents a number, counted in powers of 2, and depending on which bits are switch "on or off" a byte can be any number between 0 and 255, where 255 = 11111111 & 0 = 00000000. As I said, each bit is counted in powers of 2. So the number 1 = 00000001 and 128 = 10000000. So bytes come on groupings of 8 bits and each bit, depending on its location is a number between 1 & 128, in powers of 2. Therefore the number 2 looks like this: 00000010; 4 = 00000100, 8 = 00001000, 16 = 00010000, 32 = 00100000, & 64 = 01000000, to be continued... on Funnyism Picture (Upvotes: 73)
Never has a woman been so wrong... Sex is very important in a relationship, an adult relationship anyway. Personally, I like to compare a relationship to a plant. Conversation, having things in common, trust, shared values, etc. are the nutrients that make for a rich a soil - and those are all important for the growth and health of a relationship. But sex...well sex is the water. With no water a plant will either, it's leaves will dry up and turn brown, and fall off. Of course, the plant may continue to live for a good while, but it will lie dormant, appearing dead; and without water it will not grow. But water that plant and watch it come alive again! The leaves will grow back, vibrant green. The plant, no longer deprived of life giving water, will reawaken and continue growing once more! Perhaps it will even grow into a majestic oak, strong and sturdy! Sex is like water. No matter how rich the soil, a plant cannot thrive without water. on Funnyism Picture (Upvotes: 57)
@KuLaydMahn, So by switching on combinations of different bits you can get a value between 0 & 255, for instance if you want 151: 10010111. That's about the best I can explain without physically sitting next to you and writing it out on a sheet of paper. But that's why old NES and SNES games often had things where the maximum was either 255 or 256. And all alphanumerical symbols are represented this way. Each alphanumeric character = 1 byte. Digits 0-9 I believe are represented by bytes that are simply set to 0-9; the number 14 for instance is 2 bytes, one byte is set to "1": 00000001, and the other to "4":00000100, then displayed on screen as 1 & r, or 14. Then letters and other symbols are represented by a certain number. For Instance lowercase "a" might be assigned to the value of 11 (arbitrary example, I am probably wrong about the specific numbers, just pay attention to the underlying principle), so for "a" the byte used equals 11: 00001011, which (to be continued...) on Funnyism Picture (Upvotes: 57)
@seymorefishberg, yeah, there's been one or two things it mentioned that I thought as a child. I used to think all sorts of wacky things. When I was 3 or 4 I believed there were dinosaur bones buried in clouds. Why? I don't have a fvcking clue, but that's what I thought... on Funny Pics (Upvotes: 15)
