@EVILdrPORKCHOP3, just looked it up. When Chernobyl exploded, a mess of uranium, concrete, sand, graphite, and what not basically oozed like the mystery soup leaking out the bottom of a trash bag into the basement. Graphite is used to absorb neutrons otherwise uranium just splits as it's bombarded with neutrons and the byproduct is energy, specifically the glowy kind. So Chernobyl has been producing radiation ever since it exploded. The room where this oozy mess has collected has been smoldering but the fission reaction is ramping up above the ambient radiation levels and there's a small chance that it'll produce another explosion. Nothing like the original Chernobyl explosion but... you know... still not good. on How 2021 is going (Upvotes: 30)
