@speedway guy, I sit at the table, waiting for the party to encounter me. They find me in a prison cell for a crime I did not commit. I convince the paladin, Thaddeus Trueheart, in particular to pay my bail so I can prove my innocence by helping with their quest. They inform me they will be infiltrating a dungeon trying to find and kill a necromancer. I am good at finding and disarming traps. And this dungeon is loaded with them. I start by disarming them without fail, but as we go farther into the dungeon they get harder and harder to disarm. Or so I make it seem. Thaddeus takes the hits like they are just a gust of wind, at first. As we trek deeper and deeper into the dungeon he starts to get weary. Thats when we reach it, the necromancers lair. The fight starts off going well, but the wizard is running out of spells, the cleric has used most of their healing, and the paladin is almost dead. He takes a big hit, falls to the ground and I quickly rush over to him with a healing potion. on and that is how the campaign turned evil (Upvotes: 49)
"You will not die today," I shout as I force him to drink the potion. He eagerly downs the potion, and thats when the dm says it. "Thaddeus Trueheart, you feel the poison enter your stomach and eat away at you from the inside. The life fades from your eyes. You see a flash of white, and are no longer in the mortal realm." My job is done. And I have a feeling Thaddeus will be a useful slave to the necromancer. on and that is how the campaign turned evil (Upvotes: 48)
