Hmm, at least in the US, riding a bicycle in the road requires the rider to obey traffic laws including turn only lanes. Anyone know the law where this was taken? on Why you shouldnt ride a bike (Upvotes: 37)

The really weird part is that it’s true. I believe at the beginning of the US Revolutionary War there were several ‘privateers’ that were more heavily armed than any ship in the the Navy. Not by any crazy amount but when the navy started they were using converted merchant ships. I don’t think they ever had more than three or four and had sold them by 1790 (ish?). Several states like Massachusetts had larger ‘naval militas’ than the continental navy as well. on T Money (Upvotes: 24)
