Because, for white America at least, it was a time of economic prosperity, political consensus, and mass consumerism of goods that made life easier (especially for women). And for America in general, it was when fights for equality (or reparations) for all sorts of disenfranchised people (women, black people, Hispanic people, Native Americans, etc.) began to gain some traction. But the real answer is that we like the 1950s because we like to romanticize history. We remember poodle skirts and dances, and we forget about things like the Little Rock Integration Crisis. However, it's not necessarily bad to romanticize an era as long as it's acknowledged that bad things happened, as bad things happen in any era at any place or time in history. We, as a species, tend to romanticize everything, not just the history of our own respective countries, but world history as well. It's typical behavior. We remember the good and forget the bad. This is psychologically normal. on Funny Pics (Upvotes: 201)

If men can be shirtless, women should be able to be as well. Breasts aren't inherently sexual. They don't have to be sexualised. on Funny Pics (Upvotes: 30)
