Guys, guys, guys!! My scientific publication was picked up by a headhunter and he asked me to do a video interview about my publication and they want to publish the results with a animated video about the pathophysiology I proposed on systemic immunology in COPD exacerbations. I am so happy!! on 4th July (Upvotes: 56)

Blindness from a Chlamydia infection is actually very rare, normally the infection causes a unilateral conjunctivitis (aka pink eye, which btw most commenly is a viral infection). However in rare cases when the disease progresses and is left untreated you can develop a keratitis (inflammation/infection of the cornea). Keratitis can cause scarring of the cornea which causes obstruction of the light before entering the eye and thereby causing blurred vision. Unfortunately this is permanent, treatable with a cornea transplant though. Also possible is a uveitis which is an inflammation/infection of the uvea. Uveitis can damage your retina causing blindness. Nevertheless this remains very rare for a chlamydia infection and mostly only occurs after long-term disease progression. Maybe more importantly if you don't see a doctor after a stripper pees in your face and your eye turns red and starts hurting for several months this might just be a case of natural selection. on Funny Pics (Upvotes: 43)
Okay, here goes *whispers to self don't be nervous*: Hello all! I have followed this amazing community since 2013. However, I never dared to properly register and contribute. But mind you, I was ever there on the background observing, learing, laughing, learning and spying like the squinting salamander I am. *go on you're doing great*. I wanted to thank you all for making me laugh on a daily basis over the years. It really feels like I am part of a secret community, and from henceforth I will contribute as well, for it is I: Squinting Salamander. *was that last bit too much? No nevermind just go with it* P.s. Sorry for the long post. on Funny Pics (Upvotes: 41)
