Interestingly, some group did a study in which they had a gay couple sit at a table in a restaurant in Texas and had an actress disguised as a waitress berate them publicly to see if anyone would do anything about it. Being as its Texas and people here are extremely religious, they thought that most people would actually support the waitress, but surprisingly, almost every time (except once), someone (and a lot of the time they were Christian) stood up to the waitress and said what she was doing was unacceptable. They did this same experiment in a cafe in New York (a supposedly tolerant city) but nobody did anything, they didn't even care. The moral of the story is that stereotypes are bad on both sides. People label others "bigots" just because of what religion they are, yet when put in the same situation they don't even do what they supposedly think is right. The hypocrisy of it makes me sick. on Funnyism Picture (Upvotes: 178)

I know people up vote themselves when they want to be seen, but does anyone ever down vote themselves intentionally when they realize they said something stupid? on Funnyism Picture (Upvotes: 19)
